Customer Service Representative

As a member of the Autopac team, successful candidates will handle all Autopac transactions by being first up to greet walk-in and call in clients. In communicating with walk in clients, the candidate will facilitate and generate leads for any other lines of business (ex. home insurance, commercial) as well as establishing and maintaining customer relationships as the main priority. They must have the ability to change focus and prioritize based on situations that may come up and effectively communicate with their team, in addition to making sure that their work is accurate and detailed. Successful candidates will need to have the ability to prioritize and organize their time efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision. They need to possess a strong ability to effectively communicate information to clients and team mates on day-to-day matters as well as any problems or obstacles that may come up.


Primary functions
 Autopac Transactions - Sales and service of all MPI products, daily deposit reconciliation and MPI inventory control.
 Sales and service of Travel Insurance.
 Completion of walk -in client survey for Property Insurance to assist Account Managers (based on Training & Development)
 Facilitate and complete Funds balancing and Notification tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
 Complete the daily bank deposits (when required).
 Assist and support in maintaining the front office/counter. This may include mailing, filing, scanning and other tasks as assigned.
 Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the office area.
 Distribution of all MPI and Travel bulletins to relevant Avant team members to ensure all documents are up to date with the most recent information.
 Process payments on direct and agency bill accounts for personal lines
 Keep informed regarding industry information, new personal lines and MPI product information, legislation and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
 Recognize and act on opportunities to promote other Avant products and services.
 Maintain the insurance code of conduct, ensuring legalities and due diligence are adhered to as laid out by the Insurance Council of Manitoba.
 Provide exceptional and professional customer service to all clients at any given time and situation, keeping in mind Avant's Core Value of People over Profits.

Ideal candidates will have:

  1. Ability to be proactive and generate new clients from walk in business
  2. Experience in dealing with the public in a customer service setting
  3. Experience with home, auto and boat insurance in Manitoba an asset
  4. Willing to work independently and with a team
  5. Experience with Tam an asset
  6. Multilingualism an asset
  7. Candidates will be required to confirm vaccination status for Covid-19 as a condition of employment
